Chile and Mexico played out a stunning 3-3 thriller in Group A of the 2015 Copa America, giving the world a truly memorable result in the yesterday match results (Monday 15 June).
As current hosts, Chile are under pressure to perform in front of their home crowd. After winning their first game 2-0 against Ecuador, they were primed to seize control of Group A. Of course, Mexico had other plans.
Following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Bolivia, Mexico absolutely could not lose against Chile. And while a win would have been better, it was always going to be an immense challenge to battle with the likes of Alexis Sánchez and Arturo Vidal.
And it was the dynamic Vidal who had to level the game at 1-1 after Mexico scored first. Mexico then made it 2-1 before Chile equalised. Chile then took a 3-2 lead in this sea-saw game before Mexico levelled after 66 minutes.
