Bath Racecourse had a packed slate of victories for the favourites in the UK horse racing results yesterday (Wednesday 1 July). Most UK courses have held up pretty well in spite of the heat wave gripping the country, but Bath dried out somewhat and the going was firm.
One horse that didn’t mind the firm turf was 10/11 favourite Pity Cash, winner of the 18:05 Maiden Auction Stakes. Brazen Spirit then delivered a thrilling win by defeating fellow 3/1 joint-favourite You’re My Cracker in the 18:35 Handicap.
Nayvel won next at 9/4 ahead of 5/4 favourite Russian Reward in the 19.05 Maiden Stakes. Wordiness then won as 10/11 favourite in the 19:35 Handicap, followed by a 4/5 victory for favourite All For The Best in the 20:05 Handicap.
Phyllis Maud claimed the 20:35 Fillies Handicap as favourite at 8/11, leaving Le Torrent to break the streak of three favourite victories by winning the 21:05 Handicap at 3/1.
